I have my copy and so far it is a great read.

6.13.2010 Finished!
The Knitter's Book of Wool: The Ultimate Guide to Understanding, Using, and Loving this Most Fabulous Fiber - Clara Parkes Love, love this book. The Book of Yarn was good as well, but Clara has outdone herself with this one. I will need to scrape away some money and buy this one. Love it!
Morehouse Farm Merino Knits: More than 40 Farm-Fresh Designs - Margrit Lohrer, Clara Aich I loved this book. Great book from teh Morehouse Farm!
The Dogs of Bedlam Farm: An Adventure with Sixteen Sheep, Three Dogs, Two Donkeys, and Me - Jon Katz Border Collies, farm life and sheep. A good start for a story.
Mason-Dixon Knitting: The Curious Knitters' Guide: Stories, Patterns, Advice, Opinions, Questions, Answers, Jokes, and Pictures - Kay Gardiner, Ann Shayne Love everything Mason-Dixon!
Beautiful Sheep: Portraits of Champion Breeds - Kathryn Dun Lovely book. One of the girls brought it to the 2010 Lexington Retreat. I wanted to check it out more at home. I learned a lot about the different breed types. It is a general breed book, not necessarily geared toward the fiber end. Great book nonetheless. I would buy it.
Socks from the Toe Up: Essential Techniques and Patterns from Wendy Knits - Wendy D. Johnson Nice, well thought out book. I was kinda hoping it would cover 2 on 1 circular, but it didn't so much. Guess that is what YouTube is for. At any rate, she is a very artistic and accomplished knitter and I follow her blog, so I thought I should check it out.
Storey's Illustrated Breed Guide to Sheep, Goats, Cattle and Pigs: 163 Breeds from Common to Rare - Carol Ekarius Hummm...I need to buy this book. What a great reference/coffe table book. I also like Beautiful Sheep.

The Joy of Sox: 30+ must-knit designs - Linda Kopp Read this entire book in one day. Good tips on sock knitting. Not sure I would ever use the patterns in it. I was sorta looking for a book that would cover 2 on one magic loop. This was not the book for that. I did, however, like the spiral binding. Makes for a easier reference book while knitting socks.

Start Spinning - Maggie Casey Another library find. Great reference to the beginner for spinning, including drop spindle techniques.
Hissy Fit - Mary Kay Andrews Honsestly, this was not one of my favorite Andrews novels. I thought The Fixer Upper was my favorite. Sometimes her books hit the mark, and others.....well fall flat. This one was a bomb for me.
The Bride Stripped Bare - Nikki Gemmell The first 1/4 of the book was thrilling. The later half, ended up leaving me depressed and the main character looking pathetic. I struggled through it almost to the end and ended up giving up. Good thing I bought it at a garage sale. Dissapointed.
Keeping Faith - Jodi Picoult This book is really starting to grab my interest. Good development of characters and I am enjoying the story line.
Harvesting the Heart - Jodi Picoult Not sure I loved this book. The story started strong, but somewhere into the first 90 pages, I started feeling flat about it. Not my favorite read, but not a horrible one either. Ambivalent.
Deep Dish - Mary Kay Andrews 3.18.2010
So far I am a 3/4 of the way through the book. I recently finished The Fixer Upper, which I looooved! This book is falling a bit flat for me. Yes, it is an easy read, but I am not feeling connected to the characters. In theory, the story line is good, the characters are good. The plot is good. It should be an interesting read. The book jacket looks promising. The problem seems to be that the characters are not as fully developed as I would like. I keep hoping that will change, but at 3/4 of the way through the book, it isn't going to happen. I want to finish it at least, so that I can put it to rest. From reading the rest of the reviews, I am in good company in not falling in love with the book. Sorry Ms. Andrews, I still love your writing style, but this one just is not hitting the mark for me.

3.19.2010
Ok, it's official. I am putting this book down. TKO. Can't do it. Don't enjoy the It's a story I am not enjoying. Done.
Gone with the Wind - Margaret Mitchell Although I read this a very long time ago, I hav put it on my list to read again sometime this summer.
